So two nights ago we had our team leader and his family over (it’s been really great to have them back) (they have three adorable kids and i get to practice as aunt jenn), and then a new young couple with two cute kids that are also going to be working with some of our ministires and I made a huge old pot of chili (which by the way .. i must say I always feel like betty crocker when i actually have to boil the tomatoes and such to make the chili.. if I ever get married my husband will be so glad that i lived in nepal!) So this pot of chili was huge and it was a pressure cooker so it had a lot of nook and crannies in it. Well the next day I was doing dishes and I was actually really having a good time (it’s really only like the 3 or 4th time I have had to do dishes in nepal.. we have a didi who comes and does them.. i know.. call me spoiled.. so maybe that i was having me some church as I did dishes). So I set about to wash the chili pot. And I realized it was quite fun to see it get clean… to see that dried yucky looking tomatoe sauce stain get fully clean. And I could not just not clean the crannies (even though my hands were freezing because we had no hot water).. i had to scrub each nook and cranny.. and it made me happy to see it get clean. God hit me wham bam with his GRACE as I was doing this. Jenn.. it makes me happy to see you clean.. i love cleaning every part of your heart.. even the nook and crannies if you will let me in with the scrubbing bubbles of my love and grace and blood that cleanses you from all your sin! GRACE GRACE GRACE.. of course that does not mean we should get our hearts dirty so God can clean. .. that’s what paul says in romans..but for me it just meant as I was scrubbing that chili pot to jump up and down and shout mahima because God’s grace is amazing. I am so glad he cleanses the stains on us!
