Hey friends. I have several random thoughts for you. I realize that I have been a horrible blogger this week. I put my sister in blogger detention for not writing so I better write quick or she will put me in dention myself! I don’t know what blogger detiontion looks like but I am sure it is not good!! now if you told me there were chick-fil-a sandwhiches, my family and mayfields icecream in bloggers detention I would be there in a minute!
I have had a really great week since vacation. It seems to have flown by as it was really busy. Lets see.. what to share. Tonight my friend Ashley and I went out to a pizza place to get some pizza. It was so funny because we got there and the menu said that they regretted to inform us they were temporarily not serving pizza.. that made me laugh. How can a pizza place be temporarily not serving pizza.
There is still a HUGE petrol crisis here.. the lines are getting longer and longer. Poor scooty is finished with gas for a while.. which means these legs were made for walking. Today I walked to language school (1 hour and a half…. )then into town to do some shopping (about another hour) It’s actually fun. I take my i-pod and worship with my Jesus as we try to avoid monkeys, cows, the black smog that comes out of buses and the other crazy things that come in our path.
Speaking of path– the ROAD from our house that you have to go down to go anywhere is keeping me very very close to Jesus and in need of His grace. I know I’ve talked about it alot.. but I don’t think you can imagine it.. it rains everyday– everyday they dig deeper holes…. for what I am not sure.. i think they are pretty close to finding CHINA… but literally you get stuck. you slide, you slip and you try not to face plant. Your pants turn colors and you should see all my shoes. The other night I came home in the dark after a fresh rain and it was literally the funniest thing if you could see me and my Jesus slipping down that road. I kept clinging to his promise that he would not let my feet stumble against the rock– and clinging to the bits of treese that I could grab so I would not become a human landslide. As I am slipping and sliding this week, I was studying Proverbs 16:9. Many are the plans of a mans heart but it is the LORD who ESTABLISHES his steps. I cannot get this off my heart. The LORD has and is establishing my steps.. not just on the slippery mud road you have to go on to go anywhere from my house– but my steps on this road called life. (sorry I had to pause in writing this to try to kill the flying cockroach that was attacking me.. i wish you coudl have seen my mad skill.. or lack of .. i kept throwing our coffeetable books and it kept flying.. who knew… still unsuccessful in the killing coakroach measures) . I studied the Hebrew (or Greek I always forget which one) and it says that the word establishes means to make firm, to be fixed, to be stable, enduring, to prepare, to fix, make ready, provide, to furnish, arrange, order… wow.. God has done all of those for my steps today, yesterday and tommorow.. can I get a glory. So as I am sliding down my road and not feeling to christian about it.. I am chosing to meditate on this and remember what an awesome God I serve.
In other news: ( I told you this was random) we started our official language class for our visa yesterday. Before we were having to go to prep class 2ce a week. I am not going to lie. .. it was torture for me. I am by no means fluent in nepalee.. but I teach a bible study in nepalee for goodness sakes.. and in the prep class we spent everyday just going through the alphabet learning how to say and write each letter. The teacher was soo boring and would say one character like HA and then tell us to write it and he would litearlly look out the window for about five minutes. BORING!! I thought if I have to do six months of this for two hours everyday… but God is good.. all the time.. we started the new class and I got in a section with a different teacher. It is still ridiculously basic, like we learned to say My name is… which.. hehehe.. i think i’ve got down.. but I got the most entertaining teacher. He loves to sing and he makes me laugh alot.. in fact I laughed so hard I snorted. Keep in mind there are people in our class of about 20 students from at least 9 different countries.. apparently in none of those countries are there snorter laughers. They looked quite suprised .. which made me laugh more. I’m just going to say it was a bit of scene. It is awesome though– there people from every country– God brought the nations to that room. I sit in the back (a good baptist) with a guy from england.. a girl from netherlands, a guy from finland and someone from france. They are all the type that have come to nepal to find themselves.. hehhee.. but they are sitting next to a girl who wants Jesus to find them. They are the kind of poeple that I probablly would not meet if I was not in this class. So just please pray that I can witness to them.. I want to have them over.. get to know them.. and share them Jesus!
