Sorry to all my blogging friends.. sorry I have not written in a while. I have been walking through a pretty intense season lately and have not been able to bring myself to blog. But tonight, on Friday night I’ve been in my pj’s since 6:30. I have drank some pretty amazing coconut iced coffee 2 pumps coconut, 1 pump classic syrup with coconut flakes from starbucks (no that is not on the menu.. it’s what happens when you have a roomie who is a barista and you find out you can order high maintenance drinks and they have to make them for you ! 🙂 ). I have cooked some yummy roasted veggies which praise the Lord I am addicted to right now (i cannot say that I have ever said addicted and veggies in the same sentance), and have had my own little woman’s conference on my coach.. on friday night. Beth Moore was the Bible study teacher and Laura story has been leading worship for me.. haha.. you to can have your own womans conference. It’s great fun. In between sessions I vacuumed our kitchen floor (can I say that carpeted kitchen and messy cook DO NOT go well together), took a shower, and made a few phone calls. What a great free womens conference! ANYWAYS.. As before mentioned I have been going through a a very difficult season. One in which has involved much pain and God prying my hands off my particular idol.. wanting everyone to love me and just wanting to love everyone! Actually I have been in this process of God teaching me how to let that go since December. It’s not been fun.. AT ALL.. but God promises treasures in our broken places and I am believing Him for them. So this week God has given me Psalms 40:1-2.. IT says that God is bringing me out of a pit of destruction and giving me a new song. I believe that. I woke up this morning asking God to sing over me and translate that into me walking in His new song and me singing it. And my precious little nephews and my awesome twin sister helped me do it. My sisters car was broken down so I drove to their house to pick up those precious boys — michelle had to take matthew to yet another doc appointment (she is amazing) and alex and i were going to go on a date to the playground while they were at the appointment. Then we were coming to nenn’s house for lunch then on to play in our friend debbie’s pool. I love getting to chell’s house. Those boys greet me like I am the coolest person in the world.. almost knocking me down with hugs and smiles. It reminds me of how Jesus must feel when we get excited to hang out with him. Michelle says, hey we have time for a quick walk.. let’s go. I wish you could see this picture… it’s a double wide huge mammoth jogging stroller full of about 70 pounds of boys.. they had red kool-aide homemade popsicles to keep them busy, and michelle had a homemade smoothie in a to go blender. smoothie, popsicles, sticky boys and aunt neen in hand.. we went to go on our walk. We walked about 10 minutes when we saw a turtle in the road.
The turtle probably should have taken off running but it didn’t. The boys squealed with excitement. So of course michelle picked it up. Did i mention the boys had grown tired of their popsicles with the oops it stains them and looks like they are covered in blood .. so michelle was holding her smoothie in the to go blender, two dripping red popsicles.. but she took time to bend down and pick up the turtle. Those boys laughed and laughed. We stood there in the road and played for so long we realized we needed to get going or we would be late for the appointment. The boys were still squealing, the popsicle still dripping and the turtle was still being held. My favorite thing.. michelle said.. Well we may not have gotten much exercise, but we got a turtle out of it! hahah We walked home looking quite the scene.
