Thanks for joining me in
Day two to coming alive: I want to talk about Coming Alive in Seasons of Change.
You know why?
Because it’s October and October brings with it one of my favorite things.
Fall.. and with it.. crisp air that I truly wish could be bottled up in a Glade Air freshener. I know that they try and all.. but there’s nothing like the real thing. The go outside and take a deep breath, there is something new in the air change.
(I will not fault you if you go outside and do that right now.. and if you live in a state or country that doesn’t experience fall, i truly must say I’m sorry )
Along with Fall comes this
And the list goes on .. craft fairs, hoodies ect.
In case you can’t tell fall makes me come alive.
Seasons changing makes me come alive.
But if we are honest sometimes season changes are hard to. We want to hold on to that last bit of summer tan (or pastie white in my case). Or the snugly fireplace winter weather with the snow… We don’t always like change, welcome change, sometimes it can be uncomfortable.
You know what helps me come alive in seasons of change in my life? Moments where I have to make a transition, slide into the new, let go of something old and familiar.
Those moments when it feels exciting yet sometimes terrifying.
Like when I left everything I knew to live in Nepal. Or when I left everything I knew in Nepal to come back to America.
Or when I moved from living alone to having a roommate..
or left college to the unknown..
or when my sister got married
Or when I let go of my private counseling practice to step more out into speaking engagements…
How do I come alive in seasons changing?
Meditating in, resting on, wrapping my trembling yet excited heart in this fact
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights with whom there is NO variation or shadow due to change.
Whew no matter what changes in my season: good or bad.. scary or exciting.. new or familiar
God.. does..not.. change..
That makes me come alive.
How do you come alive in seasons of change? (ps: what is your favorite thing about fall)
